Die Künstlerbiographie:
Jessica war schon immer von der Kunst fasziniert. Seit sie einen Buntstift halten kann, verwendet sie Farbe, um ihre Perspektive auf die Welt zu zeigen. Sie wuchs in Connecticut auf, ganz in der Nähe der Grenze zu New York City. Jessica hat einen BFA in Illustration von der School of Visual Arts in NYC. Sie lebt jetzt in Huntsville, AL, wo sie als freiberufliche Illustratorin und Lehrende Künstlerin arbeitet.
Sie hat ein Studio bei Lowe Mill Arts & Entertainment (der größten Kunstgemeinschaft in Privatbesitz im Süden der USA), wo sie neue Kunstwerke kreiert, personalisierten Kunstunterricht erteilt und ihre Werke verkauft. Jessica ist auch eine Lehrende Künstlerin durch das Huntsville Museum of Art (wo sie auch als Jurorin für Museumskunstwettbewerbe fungiert) und die North Alabama Arts Education Collaborative. Jessica veranstaltet auch einen kostenlosen Kunstclub namens Junior Illustrator’s Guild für Jugendliche und Teenager, um soziale Interaktion und Inspiration durch ihre Liebe zur Kunst zu finden.
Jessicas bevorzugtes Arbeitsmedium sind Alkoholmarker und Tinte. Die Markierungen ermöglichen es ihr, ihren Comic-Kunststil mit der Verwendung feiner Linien voranzutreiben. Ihre Freude an der Kunst ist Kreaturendesign, Charakterdesign und Weltenbau. Sie ist eine natürliche Geschichtenerzählerin, die in allem, was sie sieht, eine Geschichte findet. Im Laufe der Jahre hatte Jessica viele Einzel- und Gruppenausstellungen; und wurde auch von Zeitungen und Zeitschriften interviewt. Darüber hinaus war sie Gastrednerin für Pecha Kucha und ist stolz darauf, Mitglied des Alabama Women’s Caucus for Art zu sein.

Description: This illustration tells the story of a post-apocalyptic world... left behind by humans... and overtaken by an alien being. We don't know much about the alien being (at least yet in the story), but we see evidence of the alien being with the tentacles creeping out from the sewer drain and through the broken windows. There's an ominous word left in graffiti - Silent. The streets show no human life and appear to have been abandoned. This leaves you to question... what does Silent mean? This illustration is done with alcohol markers and used fine line cross-hatching to show texture and the little details of all the broken human objects. (CLICK ON THE IMAGE TO ENLARGE IT.)

Description: This piece is a part of an ongoing series involving the study of skulls mixed with some kind of bio-luminescent object. The artwork features a raven skull, overtaken by moss and illuminated by the glow of the mushrooms surrounding it, as well as the glow from the lunar moth. To create this piece, the author used alcohol markers as well as an airbrush. She injected her alcohol markers into the airbrush, which she used to spray the glow for the background.
