La biografía del artista:
Jessica siempre se ha sentido fascinada por las artes. Desde que pudo sostener un crayón, ha estado usando el color para mostrar su perspectiva del mundo. Creció en Connecticut, muy cerca de la frontera con la ciudad de Nueva York. Jessica tiene un BFA en Ilustración de la Escuela de Artes Visuales de Nueva York. Ahora vive en Huntsville, AL, donde trabaja como ilustradora independiente y artista docente.
Tiene un estudio en Lowe Mill Arts & Entertainment (la comunidad artística privada más grande del sur de EE. UU.), donde crea nuevas obras de arte, enseña lecciones de arte personalizadas y vende sus obras. Jessica también es artista docente a través del Museo de Arte de Huntsville (donde también se desempeña como jurado en concursos de arte del museo) y la Colaboración de Educación Artística del Norte de Alabama. Jessica también organiza un club de arte gratuito llamado Junior Illustrator's Guild para preadolescentes y adolescentes para encontrar interacción social e inspiración a través de su amor por el arte.
El medio favorito de Jessica para trabajar son los marcadores de alcohol y la tinta. Los marcadores le permiten impulsar su estilo artístico de cómic con el uso de líneas finas. Su alegría en el arte es el diseño de criaturas, el diseño de personajes y la construcción de mundos. Es una narradora natural, encuentra una historia en todo lo que ve. A lo largo de los años, Jessica ha tenido muchas exposiciones de arte en solitario y en grupo; y también ha sido entrevistado por periódicos y revistas. Además, ha sido oradora invitada de Pecha Kucha y se enorgullece de ser miembro del Comité de Arte de Mujeres de Alabama.

Description: This illustration tells the story of a post-apocalyptic world... left behind by humans... and overtaken by an alien being. We don't know much about the alien being (at least yet in the story), but we see evidence of the alien being with the tentacles creeping out from the sewer drain and through the broken windows. There's an ominous word left in graffiti - Silent. The streets show no human life and appear to have been abandoned. This leaves you to question... what does Silent mean? This illustration is done with alcohol markers and used fine line cross-hatching to show texture and the little details of all the broken human objects. (CLICK ON THE IMAGE TO ENLARGE IT.)

Description: This piece is a part of an ongoing series involving the study of skulls mixed with some kind of bio-luminescent object. The artwork features a raven skull, overtaken by moss and illuminated by the glow of the mushrooms surrounding it, as well as the glow from the lunar moth. To create this piece, the author used alcohol markers as well as an airbrush. She injected her alcohol markers into the airbrush, which she used to spray the glow for the background.
