The Artist Bio:
Vanane Borian is an Israeli and Armenian artist who lives and works in both countries. She was born in Armenia and immigrated to Israel with her parents in 1998. Affected by two the adaptation of people from the former Soviet Union-born to the new Western society and the cultural traditions of her country of origin (including Armenia), Vanane's art has a unique multi-contextual perception of reality.
While pursuing her Master's degree at Shenkar College of Engineering, Design, and Art, she took a course in Feminist Art and everything made sense to her afterward. Since then, Vanane has engaged and delved into feminist discourse as an intersectional artist. Her practice is diverse and spans different media types such as graphic design, photography, installation, video, performance, text, etc. In the photography field, the viewers do not difficult to find Vanane's visual language is dynamic, harmonious, and constructive. It also clearly shows the artist's thoughts from consciousness to spiritual emotional expression. Because she does not only capture the images, but she conceptualizes, symbolizes, reimagines, represents, and recreates visual ideas.
In addition to artistic creation, Vanane is also engaged in academic research.
